Our Projects
POSHAN Abhiyaan is the Government of India’s flagship mission aimed at improving nutritional outcomes for children (0–6 years), pregnant women, lactating mothers, and adolescent girls. Launched in 2018, the mission focuses on reducing stunting, wasting, anemia, and low birth weight through coordinated action across ministries, states, and communities.
Objectives of POSHAN Abhiyaan
Reduce stunting, wasting, and underweight among children.
Reduce anemia in adolescent girls, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
Strengthen the nutritional delivery system through technology and monitoring.
Promote behavioral change for better nutrition practices.
Ensure convergence across ICDS, NHM, Education, Panchayati Raj, and other departments.
Key Features
1. Technology-Based Monitoring System (ICT-RTM)
Real-time monitoring of Anganwadi services using mobile apps for AWWs.
2. Growth Monitoring & Tracking
Digital weighing scales, height measurement devices, and growth charts.
Regular measurement of children’s height, weight, and MUAC.
3. Behaviour Change Communication (BCC)
Community sessions, POSHAN Pakhwada, POSHAN Maah, home visits.
Education on breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and hygiene.
4. Convergence Action Plan
USC, Health, Education, PRIs, Water & Sanitation departments working together.
Improved coordination between ICDS + NHM + School education.
5. Capacity Building
Training of Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, ANMs, teachers, and caregivers.
