Disha: The Smart Classes is UNHEDS’ flagship digital education initiative aimed at transforming government schools through modern, technology-enabled learning environments. The program sets up Smart Classrooms equipped with interactive digital boards, projectors, e-content, STEM kits, and solar-power backup to ensure uninterrupted learning.

Core Purpose

To bridge the digital divide and make learning engaging, inclusive, and outcome-driven for students in underserved regions.

Key Features

• Smart Classroom Setup: Digital boards, projectors, audio systems, and curated e-content mapped to NCERT curriculum.

• STEM & ICT Integration: Hands-on learning tools to boost scientific temper, innovation, and problem-solving skills.

• Teacher Capacity Building: Regular training on digital pedagogy, ICT tools, and activity-based learning.

• Solar Power Backup: Ensures functionality even in low-electricity areas.

• Monitoring & Assessments: Pre-mid-post evaluations to measure improvements in learning outcomes.

• Community Engagement: Parent workshops and school management committee (SMC) involvement.
